Hi Kat,
What a fascinating blog. We only met once (or maybe twice) at a Meetup in Hobart, so thanks for leaving me on your list to receive your updates. It makes me green-ish with envy.
Well done on staying away for so long too. I gather you’ve found a way to support yourself without a regular job, and tossed your permanent one in. I’ll have to think about that option too, though I’m not sure I want to stay on the road for as long as you have.
I’m planning on doing part of the walk from Canterbury to Rome next year (France to Italy), so this is such a wonderful entree. The preparations and packing comments are all so useful and practical, and the photos so interesting and varied. The bucket list is getting closer to ticked off…until you have time for a breather. Have fun, and best wishes.
Jane
Hey Jane!
Great to hear from you! I haven’t actually managed to find a way to support myself and keep travelling yet, by the end of July I’m going to be looking for an income as my savings are running pretty low!!
The walk is pretty challenging, but equally rewarding. 28days in now with three more to go, I’m definitely ready to be finished!
Once I’m done I will be writing up some reflections on the process and providing tips on theming a like packing and blister care.
Make sure you let me know how your travels go once you get going!!
